HER JOURNEY

Dr. Anjana Thadhani did her schooling from St. Thomas School (ICSE), Lucknow. After completing MBBS, Dr. Thadhani did DNB (Pediatrics), DCH and FCPS from Lokmanya Tilak Medical College, Sion Mumbai. She pursued her interest in Developmental Pediatrics and did Post-Graduate Diploma in Developmental Neurology from Kerala University along with training from various renowned institutes across the country. Thereafter she completed her Post-graduate diploma in Juvenile Jurisprudence and Juvenile Justice from Mumbai University, and stood first in the University.

Dr Anjana Thadhani is a renowned Consultant Developmental Pediatrician. She works as Consultant Developmental Pediatrician in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & Lucknow.

Her field of activities includes Neurodevelopmental assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of children with growth delays, physical disabilities, dyslexia, autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, behavioral and academic problems and other related issues.

She is the founder director of Niramay Guidance Clinics at Chembur and Kharghar, which are comprehensive centers for assessment of behavioral, educational and psychological problems of children and their remediation and treatment.

She is attached to Learning Disability Clinic, KEM Hospital, Mumbai since 2010, and worked earlier at Sion hospital, LD Clinic for ten years.

AN ACADEMICIAN

Dr. Anjana Thadhani is the Chief Editor of GDBP Textbook of Growth, Development and Behavioural Paediatrics. She has contributed many Book Chapters & Research Publications on learning and behavioural problems in children.

Dr Thadhani has been a faculty for Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers training program, SIES Institute, SNDT College and other institutes, delivering lectures on Inclusive Education, Learning Disability, Provisions for Childhood Disabilities.

She is the Past Chairperson of Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Growth, Development and Behavioral Paediatrics (IAP-GDBP) Chapter (2020-21). She was the National Scientific Convenor, Basic of Behaviour Module, IAP Action Plan in the year 2019. She was the National Convenor, Cradle to Crayon - Early Intervention Module, IAP Action Plan 2018 focussed on training General Paediatricians to provide early intervention in office practice.

She is also National coordinator & Core faculty, Cradle to Crayon And Beyond, National program ( 2016-17) for training Paediatricians in the entire spectrum of Developmental Paediatrics.

She is the National faculty and core member of the GDBP Chapter involved in formulating the growth monitoring, developmental delay and autism modules for training the Paediatricians under IAP Action Plan 2011. She was the National Faculty Child Rights and Protection Program 2007 of IAP.

A COUNSELLOR

Dr Thadhani has undergone intensive training in various psychological techniques like Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy (REBT) & Art and Drama therapy. She conducts parental & teachers workshops for screening of learning & behavioural problems and gives practical insights into dealing with them. She also conducts counselling sessions for children, parents & adults.

SAFETY FIRST

Child Rights & Safety is another area in which Dr. Thadhani has been contributing. She has been part of IAP Program aimed at sensitising Pediatricians towards Child Abuse. She conducts awareness programs in schools for children, teachers and staff members with the objective of teaching them recognition and response to Child Abuse.

GIVING BACK TO SOCIETY

DDr. Thadhani has been keen on helping children from all walks of society. She started her Non-Profit initiative “PEHL” in 2011 and has been supporting children with special needs & in special circumstances. PEHL supports about 300 destitute children in Mumbai and Lucknow for their counselling and educational needs. She started Project Sharan to support education of children who lost their parent to Covid Pandemic. She has been volunteering with Chinmaya Aarogya Seva in their medical camps in Gujarat. She has been part of medical relief teams during calamities during Uttarakhand floods and Nepal Earthquake.
